PSIA-AASI gives snow pros access to a wide variety of e-learning options, so here’s a quick summary of what’s available now at KWWS WLQ\ FF (/HDUQLQJ&RXUVHV. Please note that

More e-learning courses are in the works, so check often to see what’s available.

Jonathan Ballou, dropping into steeps in Crested Butte with teammate Dusty Dyar, or gapping onto a rail as Snowboard Team member Amy Gan. In the beginning of this article I stated,

“Kids born today will not know a reality that does not include virtual reality.” I believe this is true, but also that it only scratches the surface. These advances in technology will cause a revolution in education, with new learning styles and new ways to experi- ence physical skill-based activities without being able to physically do them. This opens the door to promoting snowsports in places where there is no snow. Who will be the first student that arrives at your resort who took their beginner lesson online at home? If you haven’t fully embraced e-learning

yet, that’s okay, but there’s no time like the present to start riding the wave of the future. You just might find it as indispensable as your cell phone.

AASI Snowboard Team member Chris Rogers is the manager of training for Vail Mountain’s Ski & Snowboard School and is the Snowboard Commit- tee Chair and an examiner for Rocky Mountain Division. He also runs Get AWSM, a mountain town-focused web and social media consultancy. Follow his adventures at GetAWSM.co or on Instagram: @chrisrogersvail
