Educating the nurses of tomorrow

The more time

THE MARCELLA NIEHOFF SCHOOL OF NURSING introduced serveral new initiatives this year, each aimed at better serving today’s nursing students, preparing them for success in the changing landscape of the medical field, and ultimately, providing the best care possible for each patient.

NIEHOFF’S NEW INITIATIVES INCLUDE:

A hybrid Accelerated Bach- elor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) program that ed- ucates aspiring nurses in just 16 months, getting them into the field quicker to help address a looming nursing shortage

The Mental Health: Pro- viding Access to Health (M-PATH) project, which educates nurse praction- ers to serve vulnerable populations in geograph- ic areas that lack access to primary care providers

The Center for Health Outcomes and Informat- ics Research (CHOIR), which focuses on data- driven decision making to improve patient out- comes and lower health care cost
