No Change in Co-op Leadership Incumbent trustees draw no opponents at KEC District Meetings

K

iamichi Electric Cooperative (KEC) members in Districts 1, 3, 5 and 7 met on Tuesday,

August 1, 2017 to elect trustees for the cooperative board. All incumbent trustees retained their positions.

KEC bylaws state that co- op members may choose their representatives through a nominating and election process that takes place at their District Meeting. To conduct this official business, a quorum of at least 10 percent of the members in the district must be present. Lacking a quorum or other opposing candidates, the incumbent retains the trustee position for two more years.

District 1, 3. 5 and 7 are represented by the following trustees: Rusty Shaw, District 1; Ron Pelanconi, District 3; Don Parr,District 5 and Larry Culwell, District 7.

For more information on your co-op elections or qualifications for serving on the board of trustees, please refer to your KEC bylaws. Copies are available at KEC headquarters in

Wilburton or call 800-888-2731. K Change in Rate Includes Security Lights

iamichi Electric's new rate, effective June 1 included changes to the co-op's security light rates.

The changes have to do with how the light is mounted, explained Todd Minshall, KEC director of member services.

"If the light is mounted on an existing pole the rate remains the same, but if a new pole is required, there is an additional charge," he said.

The monthly fee for security lights is $9 for 175-watt mercury vapor lights, 100-watt high pressure sodium lights and 40-watt LEDs. The monthly rate for a 400-watt equivalent LED is $22.

Installations requiring new poles or equipment are billed as an additional fee:

This fee is based on construction costs, please contact the KEC office at 800- 888-2731 and speak with a new service clerk to determine the exact price.
